You may use either Preshared key, Certificates with the Secure Computing SnapGear SG300 router. This

configuration is one example of what can be accomplished in term of Preshared Key. You may want to refer to

either the Secure Computing SnapGear SG300 router user guide or TheGreenBow IPSec VPN Client software

User Guide for more details on User Authentication options.
